Hidden Treasures -- The New Monarch

In September, we traveled to the Lunenburg area and visited an art gallery which was a small studio behind the artist's home. In her garden there were several monarch butterfly chrysalises (pupa). I took a few photos. I was told that they had never had so many of the chrysalises before in their garden.
Aren't they just beautiful?

The butterfly life cycle has four stages:egg, larva or caterpillar, pupa or chrysalis, and adult or  butterfly. I was lucky to have seen the chrysalis stage. I don't think I have ever seen it before and to think that I was at the right place and at the right time to see them. Click here to see a video of the  Monarch butterfly life cycle
