Question: "What're ya at?" This is a typical question that we hear in Newfoundland which means, "What are you doing?" A response to the question that you might hear is: "Boy, this is it."
Over the past 5 months, we have seen that many people have been following us on our adventure to Newfoundland and our travels around the province. We are glad that you have joined us on these adventures but it has been a while since we last published a post on our blog.
I am sure you would like to know "What're ya at?" on a regular basis so we will endeavour to publish each week on Mondays so you can continue to follow us. This past weekend it has been raining for two days straight and the fog is thick as pea soup. At times we can not even see to the corner of our street. Fog in this area is very common but it is unusual for the fall as there is not much warm air to cause it. Most of the fog is in the spring. Snow is more common in November but we have only had one light flurry. We now have the snow tires on the van so we are prepared for what may come. Unlike southern Ontario, studded tires are legal in all of the Atlantic provinces and are quite common, but they make a bit of a racket on the bare roads.
We are definitely settling in for the fall and winter now. Our camper has returned from the RV repair centre and is all fixed. You may remember that we had some unfortunate trouble with parts of the camper coming apart while travelling over the gravel roads of Labrador. The camper is now being stored locally at a friend's house. It won't be until April or May that we will get it out and prepare it for the move to Nova Scotia. I am told that there may still be snow in April so we may have to play it by ear.
Each week we will discuss something that we have been doing to keep ourselves busy.
