Au Revoir Quebec

On May 27, 2022 we said "au revoir" to the Province of Quebec. It was an interesting year living in an apartment on a large property. Part of the property was wooded area and nature was all around us. We travelled during the good weather to various parts of Quebec. This was the first large province that we lived in and from now on the provinces will also be large so trying to cover each of them fully will be impossible. We have met many new friends, discovered more of our beautiful country and experienced what we think are unique activities.

Below is a compilation of photos showing the year we had in Quebec:

Sitting in the BIG blue chair in Aylmer, Gatineau.
It is in just the right position to view the sunset at the beach.

There were many walking trails along the Ottawa River.
You can see Ottawa in the background.
Our landlords were wonderful. They grew beans and a variety
of squash on the property. They were so willing to share.
Here is a sample of the product.

Kyle, Henry and Thomas visited us for a weekend.
We went to the Alpaca farm.
We went to the beach and played.
Aaron, Kristin and Ruby also came for
a weekend to visit us.

Up and close feeding deer.
A big Moose hug for Ruby!
Wildlife just outside our door.
Squirrel foraging berries from a tree outside my window.
Wild turkeys galore! We had up to 40 walking and eating
just outside our front door.
Quebec has a large number of covered bridges.
More than New Brunswick. Who knew?!
The beautiful Percé Rock in Gaspe. We took a boat tour around
the rock as well as the nearby island.
An eerie art installation in the Ocean seen at low tide.
Beautiful landscapes abound.
Trailer trouble. That happened twice in Quebec! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The trailer was quickly fixed and on we went. A great big thank you to the workers who worked on the trailer.
And you thought Newfoundland had funny names for their towns.
Maybe it is a language thing! Good for a laugh anyway. Ha! Ha!
Outside our apartment sitting in our red chairs.

Quebec was a surprisingly wonderful place to tour. We experienced many things, like sleeping in an Ice Hotel, dog sledding, feeding deer close up, observing bears eating in the wild, the history of major Cities through walking tours, beautiful art pieces, helpful people and realizing the vastness of our country.

It has been a little over a year since we have been in Quebec and this past year we have been so busy. Our blog posting took a "back seat" to the other things happening in our lives in Ontario. We are now ready to continue on our cross-country journal (and journey!). We are heading out to British Columbia so stay tuned....
