Kitty Cafe

One of the many cats we have fostered
In the past, during the winter months, if you recall, we enjoyed being foster parents to cats from the SPCA in both Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. This year, we are unable, due to our lease conditions, to have pets in our apartment. Being a fully furnished apartment, I can completely understand, since the landlord would not want their furniture scratched. We found The Purrfect Cup -- A Cat Cafe and we had to go.

The cafe part of the store was very nice and they made a great Chai Latte. The cat part was a little disappointing. There were 6 cats in the small enclosed area. After entering the room, the cats were blocked off with a baby gate, which one of them kept jumping over. The room was very crowded with a few toys to use to engage the cats. There were also some climbing steps and bridges on the wall for the cats to wander on. It was not a real inspiring setting.
The perfect and soft bed. "Let me sleep!"
This one was the friendliest, with me anyway.
She came close and let me pet her.
"Are you looking at me?"

Pretty kitty. Note the baby gate wall which
separated the cats from the door leading to the cafe.
If you remember, when we lived in Guelph, Ontario, we went to the Kitty Cafe there. It was much bigger and you could have your meal in the cat area. The cats did not bother you. The cats had more things to climb on, even a carpeted tree, and could go through tunnels in the walls to get to other rooms. It is difficult not to  compare the set up with the Guelph cafe. It was quite nice.

Anyway, it was nice to be among cats again. It was one way to get our "cat" fix.

Have you been to a cat cafe? What has been your experience? Purrfect, I hope.

This is the front of a card I bought at the Cat Cafe
in Fredericton. I thought it was clever.
