In July, Al's mother came to visit us in Nova Scotia. We took her to a variety of places to experience the many things that Nova Scotia has to offer. We had a lovely week together.
One of the places we visited was Harbour Breezes Daylilies garden which is located in Salmon River Bridge. The gardens are on the south facing hillside with beautiful views overlooking the eastern arm at the Head of Jeddore harbour. The garden beds are on a steep hillside which protects the garden from the northern winds, and its south-facing position is also moderated by the close proximity to the ocean. The garden was started in 2003 and every year they expand it. We meandered through the large gardens planted with a wide variety of lilies and irises.

We spent about an hour or so winding along the path enjoying the many colours of the lilies, irises, poppies and other flowers. Beautiful!

Take time to explore the beauty around you, especially the flowers. As they say, "Stop and smell the roses" or this case the lilies. We certainly did.
