Well, not really. It was us who went back to the SPCA, this time in Nova Scotia, in their cat foster program. Remember, while we were in Newfoundland we fostered Gaylette and her four kittens and then her adopted five kittens. See our posts about them on

In November of 2018, we started fostering Tiana, a lovely 9 month old blonde female. She was a bit nervous but she soon became a friendly and loving cat. Her purr was very soft, just like her fur. It was a wonderful experience. We had great fun. Tiana would follow me throughout the house and sometimes we had a great time playing "hide and seek" up and down the stairs and along the hallway stairs.

"I see you" |

Tiana loved to play with feathers and toy mice. |

Lying in the sun. |

Washing her face and ears always seemed to be difficult for Tiana. Almost each time she washed, she turned her ear over. Too funny! |
|
Such a pretty cat. |

Watching "fish tank TV" |
|
"What do you have up there?" |
|
"Let's snuggle" |
|
Tiana giving me a foot rub. Such luxury! |
|
"I'm watching you! No sudden moves now." |
|
Rest Time! |
|
Rest time again! What cats do best. |
|
"Oh goodie! I found a box." |
|
"I am claiming it" |
|
"I'm still watching you. Just wait until you pass by!" |
We had Tiana for about nine weeks before someone came and took her away to her "forever home". We will soon be assigned another cat to foster.
Returning to the Foster Program, getting more cats to foster reminded me of the Canadian Film Board's 1988 short film called "The Cat Came Back". I always loved watching that film. There is a great difference though between the innocent looking cat in the film that wreaks havoc for the home owner and those we have fostered. The foster cats have been such a joy to work with, watching them grow to strong, confident and loving animals.

Chorus of The Cat Came Back
"But the cat came back the very next day.
The cat came back, they thought he was a goner.
But the cat came came back, he just couldn't stay away."
I say, "Keep them coming". We will keep you updated on the next cat(s).
