Linda and I are taking the loom or knit picking workshop |
The white one is my project. We learned different stitches using the loom |
After a few hours of conversation and knitting we went over to the Ferme Isle Saint-Jean where Gabriel showed us his sheep herd and sheep products. It is where Knit Pickers sources its local wool. This sheep farm has a family history of award-winning cheese-making and farming which has created delectable cheese and yogurt. We got to taste some of their special cheeses. I purchased a delicious grilling cheese. I can't wait to try it out.

Mixed greens with Lobster, fried mussels and cheese croutons. Lovely! |
It was a lovely day filled with new experiences with a new good friend. Prince Edward Island offers so much. You just have to look for it!
Beverly - a little late in commenting - but my sister just stumbled across your post today! Even though your visit was over a year ago, I remember you well - you picked up the loom knitting technique so quickly! Thank-you for the lovely write-up. I'll be sure to share it with Gabe from Ferme Isle St Jean and Mike and Jen, the chefs from The Yellow House.
ReplyDeleteMargaret: Thanks for the comment. Linda and I really enjoyed your workshop. I have made a few scarves since the class. You were a wonderful host and instructor. It was all a great experience. I hope that 2018 was just as good.
