| The Painted Lady Butterfly |
In September we started to see a massive number of butterflies in Prince Edward Island. They were everywhere, in the fields, on the road, at the beach. They were especially attracted to purple flowers and sunny, warm areas like the red dirt roads. One friend said that her driveway was covered with them and she had to drive very carefully up her driveway. These colourful butterflies are called Painted Lady Butterflies. Apparently 2017 has been a boom year for them.
On the radio recently, we heard that these Painted Lady Butterflies have been sighted in the United States appearing as massive clouds.
They look very much like a Monarch from afar but close up you can see that they are very different. It is amazing to see nature at its finest.
